vSide.com - The ExitReality, Inc buyout from Doppelganger/EvilTwin Studios will soon face a serious dilemma.

On June 9th, the vSide.com domain that is currently registered through GoDaddy.com (Domain Registrar) will expire. This means that no one has renewed the domain. It could be for a various amount of reasons, such as a cancellation request, insufficient funds (whether it be none, or not enough to cover the amount for multiple years for renewal). By the time this day comes, generally, there is a small grace period to renew the domain one last time before it goes into "recovery" status. When it reaches this point, it will no longer resolve to a web server (where the vSide.com website itself is hosted). The domain owner would then have to pay a fee to recover the domain, in addition to renewing it for a year or multiple at a time.

This actual process varies by domain registrar. Especially recovery status. It could sit this way for almost 90 days for someone to recover it before it is released back to the internet. By the time this happens, an auction firm, such as sitematrix (exactly how it sounds) will buy the domain, and sell it at a higher price because it has value (good traffic). It might remain that way for a while, as these buyers monitor the traffic and if it still continues to look good to them, they will continue to renew it at their own expense for serious profit.

If the domain expires, the entire structure of the vSide Beta client itself will be offline to the public, as there will be no way to directly communicate with the game environment itself as the game depends on sub-domain names that link back to the IP address of the server the game process is running over at the OVH datacenter in Quebec.

There are two specific names that we want to still be able to associate with, or at least the IP addresses that they reverse back to.
    They are:
    vside.com (Web Server) 192.95.58.156
    envserver.vside.com (Server/Host) 192.95.58.156
    envmanager.vside.com (Client/Game) 192.95.58.156
    download.vside.com (Textures/Files) 192.95.58.156
    music.vside.com (City/Apt Streams) 192.95.58.156

These URLs are hardcoded into the game. As you can see, they all reach back to the same IP address on the server.

If you want to keep vSide working for yourself, in hopes that the server continues to stay online, you should be able to add entries to these aliases in your hosts file (Windows)
By default, you can find the hosts file in:
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc

If the file or any of these folders is not visible, you must enable the option to show hidden files in your folder options through Control Panel. There are also other ways to simplify this process, such as in "View" on Windows 10.

You would like to make your hosts file look something like this:

    # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    # 127.0.0.1 localhost
    # ::1 localhost
    192.95.58.156 vside.com
    192.95.58.156 www.vside.com
    192.95.58.156 envserver.vside.com
    192.95.58.156 envmanager.vside.com
    192.95.58.156 download.vside.com
    192.95.58.156 music.vside.com

While www. is not normally required in a domain name in our century, some websites do still use this method. The vSide.com website is one of them. The vSide/Exit Reality PayPal is still active and capable of receiving funds, but no support is provided. Disputes for vBux/vSub purchases have gone unanswered throughout 3 months with PayPal investigating the cases and rewarding the funds back to the claim holder in about 2 weeks. It is unknown whether or not debit/credit card purchases still work as a way to obtain currency in the game.

If the domain expires, I believe I would like to contact their corporation agent as a last resort to see if a message can be gotten across.

Domain still has not been renewed.

The latest news is the discovery of another Exit Reality owned website, which is https://universalavatars.com
    What happened to vSide?

As you can already see, there were vSide textures ripped off and utilized for this service.
At least, almost all of them. Or the ones that would be most eye catching.

The issue with it is, there are over 10,000 errors on the website and not all of the textures load, because Exit Reality/Danny Stefanic do not understand exactly what it is their business is about.
Have a look at this website and take a look at the avatar items that appear in the drop downs. You might be better off taking a look at it from a computer instead.

You will be able to build a 3D vSide avatar right from your web browser with just about all the most cost-worthy vSide items.

Take a look at the "wristrightb" dropdown.
You will find two items here that should blow your mind a little more:

    1) The Doppelganger Class Ring -- given out to long-time users during Doppelgangers ownership of vSide
    2) The Golden Ruby Ring -- I made this ring.. it costs 110 vBux in the Besos/LGA store.

I'm sure you will find plenty of items that you have created here.
You'll also find some emotes, that I'm not sure what happens when you click the "Save/Play" button. Nothing loads.

Will continue to see what I can find.

As per the domain expiration policies of the vSide domain registrar (GoDaddy.com), the domain was granted a grace period of 5 days until 6/14/17 2:03pm EST.

On June 10th at 10pm EST, someone at the ownership level of the vSide.com domain renewed it for an additional year, rendering an expiration date of 6/9/18 2:03pm EST, and the grace period being 6/14/18 2:03pm EST.

You can view the domains current registry information here: https://www.whois.com/whois/vside.com

If it seems outdated, there is a small "refresh" icon above the information panels that will reaquire all of the information.

It does not seem that any contact information has been updated. You are more than likely not going to get a response if you contact the registrant information supplied by Danny or whoever may have rights to the domain name now, as the info is still old and unresponsive.
